I plan on filing my taxes online will I be alerted right away if my ex already claimed my son?

Yes your return will reject if he was already claimed.  But you won’t know by who.  Then you will have to mail your return.

Sorry I just want to be sure I understand..  So let's say I fill out everything online and submit it will I find out then or later..  Like will I find out as soon as I enter my sons social security number?

Well later.  When the IRS rejects it.  Should only take a couple days.
