I created 1099Misc and selected efile. do I need to mail copies to the payee's

when creating 1099misc for efile, do I have to mail hard copies to the payees also?

Yes, if you are required to file any Form 1099s, then you must also furnish copies of the same information you have filed with the IRS to the recipients.  This would mean mailing hard copies to the payees such as a business mails copies of a W2 statement.  Also, in most cases, this information must be mailed by January 31st.
