You don't need to file Form 4852 if the only thing wrong on your W-2 form is your social security number and the employer has agreed to fix it when they are able.
You can delete the Form 4852 and file your W-2 as it is, except use your correct social security. Your refund may be delayed due to the employer's error, but you will be able to e-file and get your stimulus payment.
This is how to delete your Form 4852:
- Click on Tax Tools near the bottom of the left side menu.
- Select Tools.
- Click on Delete a form.
- Find Form 4852 on the list, click Delete to the right.
- Confirm that you want to delete the form.
- Click Continue and then Review.
