I’m using TurboTax self employed for desktop (never again)
it’s not allowing me to efile and is advising sending by mail because it’s the day past deadline
is this correct?
when using TT online in the past I was able to file the day after when there was a death in the family
please advise

After October 15, 2024 TurboTax has closed e-filing for a 2023 tax return when using either desktop or online editions. The 2023 tax return can now only be printed and mailed.
If you had e-filed by the October 15 deadline, and been rejected, you would have a five day grace period to correct the return and re-file. But if you are trying to e-file for the first time on October 16, you are too late. Your return can only be filed by mail now.
When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s. Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.
Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses. Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.
Each year might be different date to file. Like last year Oct 15 was on a Sunday so the deadline was Monday Oct 16.
