Will the IRS recalculate my stimulus check amount after applying the $10,200 unemployment tax break? I have already filed a 2020 tax return.

The $10,200 makes the difference between owing taxes and receiving a refund. It also will drop my AGI below the $75,000 threshold, so will I now qualify for the stimulus payment?

The IRS guidance for both the unemployment income exclusion and stimulus payment corrections is do not amend. The IRS will make those corrections and notify taxpayers of the changes.

yes they will adjust and give you credit for the stimulus; the IRS announced this week that they expect to make the adjustments and refunds in May
