I e-filed my mom's returns (federal & Georgia) today as a guest through Intuit and was only billed $20. I e-filed my own returns over 2 weeks ago (federal & Georgia) while logged into my Intuit account and it was $25. Why the difference? If it is cheaper to e-file as a guest, I will start doing that in the future.

Using the TurboTax desktop editions, the state e-file fee was $20 before March 1. On March 1 the e-file fee for a state tax return increased to $25.
Please re-read my question. My mom's cheaper $20 rate was on 4/3, my more expensive rate was EARLIER than hers back in March. I know they raise rates March 1. I wasn't aware they decreased them again in April.

It's really not that big of a deal. I was just curious. I don't have any more time to waste chasing this down. I just thought someone here might have a quick answer. Think I'll e-file as a guest though in the future if it's after March 1 based on this experience.
