That sounds like a fee of 29.99 plus sales tax. Did you use Free Edition with PLUS upgrade, and did you choose to pay your PLUS fee out of your Federal refund? And has your Federal refund been delayed for a long time at the IRS, or reduced? If so, TurboTax would ultimately want to be paid and would have been sending you emails to pay or else they auto-debit the bank account.
If that's your situation, we can tell you more when you respond to those questions.
OK yes it was supposed to be for the plus benefits my federal taxes but I have not gotten my federal taxes on my state taxes And I just check my emails I've been logging into my Turbo tax now and again once every couple weeks trying to wait for more information about my taxes when I'm gonna get them I never seen anything in my profile about or my account about this charge but I did just notice the email that they sent me They said it was for my plus benefits
If I didn't get my taxes already to that mean that my benefits have been delayed or reduced The other email that I received is this as follows . TurboTax Customer,
We are following up on our earlier email regarding the increased Unemployment benefits. Great news! We have confirmed that you do not need to take any additional actions to get the benefits you deserve. At this time, you do not need to file an amended Federal or State tax return. We will continue to keep you informed if anything changes. Otherwise, for more information on when you can expect this payment, visit our blog
Thank you again for being a TurboTax customer.
Sincerely,
Here's more info on why your bank account was auto-debited for the TurboTax fees. I think they wait 36 days after your original estimated date for your Federal refund. Also check your email's spam/junk folders in case the emails asking you to pay and informing you of the debit ended up there, or any other email addresses you have.
FAQ: Why was my bank account auto-debited for the TurboTax fees?
Here are the benefits that come with PLUS. They are not affected by any delay at the IRS.
FAQ: What is included with PLUS?
You asked: "If I didn't get my taxes already does that mean that my benefits have been delayed or reduced?"
You can't draw any conclusion from a delay. It only means the IRS is taking a long time processing your return and likely doing a manual review. It doesn't necessarily mean anything about the final refund amount. An unusually large number of filers have had long delays at the IRS this year, so you are not alone. Until they finish their review, you won't know if the IRS approves the full refund, or if they reduce it for some reason, or if they increase it, such as for changes in recent tax laws for unemployment benefits, if you filed before that tax change went into effect. If you received unemployment benefits, the IRS should apply the $10,200 unemployment exclusion automatically and recalculate your refund. Perhaps that's part of your delay.
If that's your situation, then after the IRS makes that exclusion, you might become eligible for additional credits if you were not eligible for them originally prior to the exclusion.
