Why is turbo tax not letting me file my return due to them saying the K-1 form isn't finalized yet but it was finalized Friday Feb 3rd. Shouldn't they have that update!

It looks like some portions of the K-1 form are not ready yet.  Please see this Help Article for more details and where to look up the specific forms.

My account filed the K-1 Friday morning and said they finalized the forms then or he wouldn't have been able to file it. We signed electronically everything.

The IRS is sometimes ready before TurboTax is.  The IRS notifies TurboTax of their updates and then TurboTax updates their systems by coding in the new forms and attempting to test them as much as possible before they are rolled out to the general public.  It all just takes some time.

I am also waiting for the form to be available. I can’t file until it’s ready. This happened last year and delayed everything almost a month. I hope they get it done quicker this year.

It's a little frustrating. You'd think once the IRS finalized the form that we'd be able to file it. As our business taxes are already filed and now waiting on turbo tax to let us file our personal with K1.

Thank you. Just frustrated that the form is finalized and our S-Corp taxes are filed and the K1 is ready and they are saying it's not finalized which it is. Appreciate the answer.

Same problem with Turbo Tax for 2024

I want to complete my 2024 K-1 for LLC  real estate rental property income.  Turbo Tax premier has been saying since late November 2023 that the form is not available yet.  This is disgraceful.  I have been using Turbo Tax for 25 years and i am about to switch to another software.

Are you aware that the IRS does not have some forms ready for tax software?  And that many states do not have forms ready for tax software---even if you can find them to print on paper---that does not mean they are ready for tax software.

Just because I had a K-1 last year, it still won’t let me submit my return this year until “form” is updated.  If I get a K-1 it won’t come until September and then I will file an amended return.  Clearly the government is trying to control flow of refunds…shameful

I am having the same issue where it is saying that the form is not ready yet for Schedule K-1 Box 13 code C and gives a date of March 6th for it to be ready. This is the 3rd date that has been listed and each time I come back on that date it pushes out further. Now it is March 7th, and TT still says it won't be available until March 6th. I don't know what to do here as it is after that date and still no form and it is preventing me from filing. Thoughts? TT reps can you look into this?

Me too. This is INCREDIBLY frustrating. I want to use another tax product but I don’t want to have to start all over!!! I was ready to file two weeks ago and am still waiting. Absolutely ridiculous. And the fact you can’t speak with a person without paying the additional fee is infuriating.  Sick sick sick of TurboTax right now.

The IRS made significant changes in Schedule K-1 for tax year 2023, adding dozens of new codes for several boxes, including new requirements for Form 8283, Noncash Charitable Contributions, which affect Schedule K- 1 Box 13 Code C.

Our programmers have been working to implement those changes for personal returns, connecting the new codes to appropriate Form 1040 lines and forms. Form 8283 is estimated to be ready by March 20, 2024.
