Why is turbo tax charging me $118 to file?

The $40 charge applies when you pay any fees out of your Fed refund.

Avoid by just paying any filing fees with a Credit Card.

To see your fees, click on Tax Tools on the left side of the screen. Then click on Tools. You will see My Fees in the center of the screen.
