Why is Turbo Tax charging me to e-file my return after I have already paid for the software? I don't remember ever having to do this in the past.

Are you referring to the $25 e-file charge for the state tax return? If so, the charge for e-filing a state tax return has been included with the desktop editions for at least the last 20 years.
This charge can be avoided by printing and mailing the state tax return.
No there is a $45 charge being applied but I have paid for Turbo Tax Deluxe.
Yes, I've paid to e-file State tax but that should only be $15 (after the $10 credit).
@WKT21 Are you in California? If so there is an option for Premium Services that you may have selected by mistake, there is a $45 charge for this option.
See this for Premium Services - https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/intuit-product-orders/premium-services/L...
Go back to the start of the File section and go through the screens. You should get to a screen to either remove the Premium Services or to to decline the option.
That didn't work - when I originally tried to download my software and apply my license code it took me downloading "Premier" software but I wasn't charged. Most confusing since it clearly shows TurboTax Deluxe in the upper left hand corner. So I don't know what Turbo Tax "program" I am using.
@WKT21 You will have to contact TurboTax support for assistance with this problem. Use the key words Billing Issue
When you contact support make sure that you tell them you are in California using the desktop editions and you need to remove Premium Services
