Why has my return not been processed yet, it has been almost 72 hours and it still is not accepted or rejected by the irs at all. I have never had this issue before.

I have been looking at the complaint boards for tax sw...TT is very high on complaints for the past few years.

I appreciate the suggestions about taxact and freetaxusa but...there are some very concerning complaints about them as well, especially about being charged w/o notice (being taken out of the refund due), change in account numbers, being hacked, etc.  So are these sw companies actually safe to use?  Not sure.

Guess I should just give up on efiling and mail via certified mail with proof of delivery from USPS and resign myself to waiting months for my refund.

People are not talking about it being processed they are talking about when u very first submit your tax return u get it was either accepted or rejected. Normally it only takes a hr or so maybe a day at most but there are people waiting weeks and the irs has not even received the return its normal for it to take we a min after they accept it. Especially if you claim kids because they don't even start processing those till mid February.

@Hwachenheim i claimed both my children and filed through TaxACT. Submitted 1/30, accepted same day and fully processed within 4 days. Received my refunds 3 days after that. All done within one weeks time.

@JC1000 TaxACT is just like TurboTax, nearly identical when filling out and submitting your returns. Give it a shot, you won’t be disappointed. I had no issues re-filing through them. Submitted 1/30, accepted within hour, approved and fully processed by both IRS and state within 4 days. I received both refunds via direct deposit within 7 days of submitting. My TurboTax submission was then autorejected  (but never even reached IRS after 3.5 weeks pending)

Hi, it’s been more than 21 days and when I do the “where’s my refund” it says it has no records of a refund. When I call the hotline they say the same thing, meanwhile turbo tax states I should be getting 129$ from the state?

Make sure you are entering the correct Federal refund amount and not the combined Federal and State refund. Also make sure you are entering your full federal refund amount, not the amount you would get if you had fees taken out.

You might want to call TurboTax Customer service for more details. We don't have access to your return in Community.  Here is a link:  Turbo Tax Customer Service

Thanks.

I see checking that Taxact, Taxslayer, HRBlock all are involved in a class action lawsuit for compromising data of customers by sharing with Meta, Google, etc. without permission.  Found this out when looking at security issues wrt online tax sw.  Taxact does have a desktop version that some people have problems activating (like I did TT with no help from TT) that I finally fixed and see Taxact posted in their help the solution I needed (having to go into properties and uncheck read only box) so I may still give them a try for desktop version.

I also see that TT was hacked and took months to notify affected customers of the data breach.  Again, one reason why I won't use their online version only desktop but now am not going to use it again.

Thanks but contacting TT customer service has proven over and over to be a complete waste of time.

Once your return is filed, TurboTax has no control over the processing of your return or the release of your refund.

Here are a couple FAQs to track your refund:
When will I get my federal tax refund?
How do I track my state refund?
Why does Where's My Refund say "approved" but TurboTax still says "accepted"?

Why do some refunds take longer than others?

What if my IRS refund is taking longer than 21 days?
