Why does this year's version of TurboTax suck so much?

I have imported my documents as in past years yet the changes (I am using the desktop version) keep wanting to take me through information I already imported.  Imports are not labeled in the income section and it keeps wanting to take me through "steps" I have already taken.

I have used TurboTax for fourteen years, so it is not newbie issues.

I don't even have product questions yet as I try to untangle this mess.  I may end up needing manual entry.  Is there no way to opt out of the "improvements" in this year's edition so I can avoid cycling back and forth so much.

"Choose what I work on"  should allow me to do just that without looping me back through questions.

I also use desktop and have not found a way other than to use forms mode.  I share your opinion of this year's improvements.
