why does this program say my spouse itemized deductions when he didnt?

If you are filing married filing separate, both must claim the standard deductions or both must itemize.  There's a question at the beginning of the return that asks if your spouse is itemizing.  If he isn't, then you need to go back and change this on your return.  To get to this section:

1. Open your return
2. Go to My info
