Why does Intuit lobby the government to make taxes harder?

It seems pretty 'ass-holey' that Intuit spends their resources to the detriment of US citizens at large by supporting a byzantine tax code rather than get on-board with 'return-free' filing that has been embraced in much of the developed world. Akin to a racist person from the 1950s looking back now, Intuit will look back and recognize that they were on the wrong side of history (albeit in a less damaging way than racism(.
