Why do I have to pay $50 for both states that I filed in?

I went to file my taxes and it wants me to pay $50 per state for my taxes. I didn't pay this fee any other years and i dont know why

Did you use the TurboTax desktop CD/Download editions in prior years?

You are using the TurboTax Premier online edition where the state tax program are an additional $50 for each state used.

The online version has always been a fee for each state.  Except in the Free Edition.  There was a price increase on March 1.  Maybe you filed before March before so they were less.  Or you only filed in 1 state?

Or did you use the CD/Download  Desktop program before?

Thank you! I do believe it was an older version. Is there anyway around the $50 fee?

No.   The Online fees are to prepare the return whether you efile or print and mail.  The only way is to delete the state return.
