Why are they charging 3 fees

To see what you are being charged for:

1. After signing in to TurboTax, open or continue your return.
2. Select Tax Tools on the left side of the screen and then Tools.
3. A Tools Center box will pop up on your screen.
4. Select the My Fees box on the right.

Tip: If these instructions don't work (for example, on your mobile device) open the File section and then proceed to the Review Your Order screen. This also shows the breakdown of your charges.

You appear to be using Online Deluxe Edition, which is a paid version--$60 for Federal and $50 for state (if applicable), and if you choose to pay the fees out of your Federal refund, there is an additional $40 service fee ($45 for California filers, where it is bundled as "Premium Services.")    Is that what you mean by "three fees?"

You can avoid the additional $40 (or $45) service fee if you pay your product fees upfront with credit/debit card or a prepaid debit card you can buy in a store.    If you want to pay upfront, here's how to remove the "pay-out-of-refund" option prior to filing.

States other than California will need to use this method:
