I assume you are using Online TurboTax. That has happened to a number of folks this year. TurboTax said it was fixed, but obviously it's still happening at least to some. I don't know if this method will help you, but it does allow you another way to look for a PDF that "might" have the Filing Instructions. Please report back on your results.
Try this alternate method.
Here's how you can (hopefully) get your most up-to-date PDF with the worksheets, summary pages, etc. You can open your return interview and go to the Print Center, where you can choose from various PDFs.
NOTE: When you open your return back up, do not make any changes in it if it's already been filed. If you later have to amend the return, it has to start off exactly as it was when it was originally filed.
NOTE: Remember all PDF tax documents and tax data files are very sensitive files, since they contain your personal ID info, financial data, and possibly bank account numbers, etc. Be sure to store them safely and securely to guard against computer theft, hacking, etc.
Unfortunately still happening to me, and using this method (which has worked in years prior), does NOT work for me. I'm pretty annoyed honestly.
As well you should be. This is basic, simple functionality; a few templates of instructions. Select to proper ones for this return. Bind the necessary return data to the template, render it, and add it to the PDF generated.
It really is this simple. It's ridiculous that TurboTax hasn't solved this yet. It's been almost a month.
