Why am I getting charged for turbo tax deluxe when I didn’t want it

TurboTax Free Edition is for filers that use a simple 1040 with no additional schedules. If your tax situation requires additional forms/schedules, you will be prompted to upgrade.

I’m seeing it charged me $80 instead of $40

Your tax situation may require the upgraded version. You can downgrade your current TurboTax version with our clear and start over feature but you won't be able to use this if you've already registered, submitted payment or deducted the TurboTax fee from your refund.

The same happened to me. I filed a simple return and ended up paying $60 for fees. My return was small enough as it was. :(  I know part of it was for filing the federal electronically but it shouldn't have been $60 from what I could find on the Turbo Tax site.
