@gr8day2play When I come across this question on the forum, the answer I provide is correct at the time of posting -
To enter, edit or delete a 6 digit IP PIN
Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
Click on Other Tax Situations
Scroll down to Other Return Info
On Identity Protection PIN, click the start button
There is no "Federal Taxes" tab to click on! Your instructions do not work.

The instructions work just fine if you are using the TurboTax desktop editions -
To enter, edit or delete a 6 digit IP PIN
Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
Click on Other Tax Situations
Scroll down to Other Return Info
On Identity Protection PIN, click the start button
If you are using the TurboTax online web-based editions instead -
To enter, edit or delete a 6 digit IP PIN
Click on Federal on the left side of the online program screen
Click on Other Tax Situations
Scroll down to Other Return Info
On Identity Protection PIN, click the start button
To enter your IP PIN in TurboTax, you can search for IP PIN and use the Jump to link, @formerprof . Or you can go to Other Tax Situations, which will be under
Personal or Federal (up top or left side panel) >>> Other Tax Situations >>> Other Return Info >>> Identity Protection PIN , depending on your version.
@formerprof If you have the Desktop Home & Business program the Federal tab is broken out into Business and Personal. So when you see to go to "Federal" you go to Personal.
There is no reason to make it so hard to find for those of us who basically do our own returns. And the "help" is no help.
Thanks for this clarification. I didn’t realize that the Home and Business version, which I use as a self-employed business person, doesn’t have a Federal tab like other versions, but instead has a Personal tab. Having it that way has created an immense amount of confusion and wasted time for me. I have documented this process for next year, assuming I decide to use TurboTax.
