Where can I find the My Account button so I can access the Tools menu.

Cannot locate Tax Tools or even My Account.  I look on the left hand side and all I see are a list of federal and state forms which are part of my return.

This is so frustrating - I've wasted hours trying to delete a K-1 form that doesnt belong but still populates and as a result am unable to file my return.

Would appreciate any help you can provide.  Thank you.

What product are you using?  The My Account button was an old Online feature and was removed from Online TurboTax 4 years ago when the website was redesigned.

Tax Tools is only present in the Online TurboTax menu--not in the desktop product (CD/download).

However, if you see a list of forms in the left column, sounds like you are in Forms Mode of the desktop software.   Are you using the CD/download product?

If you're trying to delete the K-1 from the list of forms, you may be having trouble if there are K-1 worksheets which have to be deleted first or other forms related to the K-1, so it will regenerate.

The proper way to delete a K-1 is in the Interview step-by-step mode by going back to the K-1 Summary screen and simply selecting to Delete it.   That should remove the K-1 and any underlying worksheets or forms that are causing it to regenerate.   Here's how:

If you have trouble with those steps and need any screen images, let me know, and what product you are using--Online versus desktop.    Or instead of the "Jump to" shortcut method outlined in the FAQ above,  I can tell you some direct navigation steps to get to the K-1 Summary screen.

I'll assume you are using Online TurboTax and not the Mobile App.

The My Account button was removed about 4 years ago.   The website was redesigned back then.  You must be looking at old info.

Here's how to get to the Tools menu:

Log in and open your return (if not already open) and go to the left menu column.   In that left column you should see the tab TAX TOOLS.  Click it and you'll see a submenu.

What are you wanting do with Tools?

Hello mesquite-bean

Thanks for your quick and knowledgeable reply.  However, still have issues.

I have an iMac desktop - use the download version.

Using Easy Step Interview, I went to Business Items, then clicked Schedules K-1 which brings me to a screen of K-1s for partnerships, s corp and trusts (I presume this is the K-1 Summary Screen you refer to).  No delete button to be found.  Clicked forward and still no delete button.  Where am I going wrong?  The answer may be staring me in the face, but I still don't see it.  Appreciate your further input.  Thank you.

You got part of the way, but you took a detour, and did not get to the Summary screen which will clearly say "Summary" on it.   On the screen that shows you the 3 types of K-1s (partnerships, s-corp, trusts), you have to choose UPDATE.   See the screen images below.  My screens will look a little different than yours, since I'm using Home and Business Edition for Windows.

NOTE:  After you click on Delete (image 4), it will show you all the K-1 related forms it is about to delete.   Those underlying forms are likely why it kept regenerating when you were trying to delete it previously in Forms Mode.

Did you find it?  Here's my steps.

Try deleting it this way.  Go to the K-1 interview section here

Federal

Wages and Income

Then scroll way down to Business Items

Schedules K-1, Q - Click the Start or Update button

If the first screen says "Do you want to review Schedule K-1?". You have to answer yes and then click Update by  the Schedule K-1 type (LLC, S corp, trust). The next screen is the Summary screen listing all of the K-1 entered for that type of entity.  You can review, edit or delete it there.

One user found he had to add a fake name first.....

I figured out that I had to actually start fixing this problem by entering a fake K-1 name to the TurboTax request and then going back to the "Update the Schedule K-1" and deleting the fake K-1 name.
