Did you get an IRS letter such as a 5071C instructing you that you have to ID Verify with the IRS before they can finish processing your return?   If so, is the code you refer to not in that letter?   Or have you net yet received a letter with the instructions and 14-digit code?

It was included in an IRS letter (‌5071C or 6331C).   

• This number is used to Verify your return
• If you lost or misplaced the PIN go to Retrieve your identity protection PIN (IP PIN)
