when will turbotax 2025 be ready

I can't do anything until the software is done, will this be accomplished? I have all the info I need, I just can't enter the data.

Much of the 2025 TurboTax program is available for entry of tax data.  What exactly are you trying to enter?

The Form 1099-R section is estimated to be finalized and available in TurboTax on 01/21/2026

@DoninGA I noticed in the forms tool that 8606 moved from 1/21 to 1/23 and 5329 moved UP from 1/28 to 1/23.  Do you think that changes when the retirement section will open and indicates a release on Friday?

I don't understand why this is taking so long.  Response I got was 1099-R will be ready on 1/21, but who knows.  Not sure why all the pieces are not done together.  Know we can't file before the end of the month but would still like to get everything in.

It is what we are being told in the community, but we (the community) obviously have no control over it.

Not dumping on you but really tired of these estimates coming out that are not based on reality and the notifications on updates not related to the question that we asked.  Really disappointed in Turbotax this year.

I cannot understand how a company that has been around so long does not have enough pride to post a comment stating when they’re going to actually have a working copy of the program hundreds of thousands of people have already purchased and owned and expected to work when they purchased it not one comment from TurboTax as far as when their product is going to be complete for most of us that require the 1099R it is incomplete. The date came 21 January 2026 nothing at 3:37 in the afternoon not even a comment from the company this is not right. I will be going to a different tax program next year

Totally agree, have never had this issue before and like you, the lack of any comments from the company speaks volumes.  These "estimates" that have been thrown out by the "experts" are not based on any facts and further add to the disappointment to the situation.  The only other option i have heard from turbotax is to pay extra to have them do it.  If your people can do it why can't I.  This is ridiculous.

For what its worth, I just spent 45 minutes with customer service trying to get an answer to this issue and the bottom line is they don't know.  The tec rep I spoke with did some research on the developers help tickets and didn't see anything related to 1099-R issues.  Bottom line from her was to wait until the end of January and see if things are done.  I suggested to her to have someone come on this community board to address this issue as I am not the only one with the problem.  I got the impression, that this was first heard so I don't know what to say.
