When will 1099-R updates be ready so customers can enter them for 2025?

I tried in both Online & Desktop Windows this morning.  I had no issues.

If you are using desktop, make sure you run the updates.

If you are using the "Online" software, perhaps the TTX server you connect thru isn't updated yet

Entry of Forms 1099-R became available in both online and download versions two days ago.  You must do a software update to the download version to obtain the capability.

I have been checking for updates everyday and i get the response no updates available although when I try to enter my 401K information it has "available soon". When is this suppose to be available to enter into TurboTax desktop version?

We can only guess when that section will get the green light.   Last year that 1099-R section became available around January 9, which was that week's regular update day.   So extrapolating from that (and guessing), perhaps it will become available this next week around January 8 (Thursday).   Regular weekly updates normally occur on early Thursday mornings.  

If someone in this user community has more specific info, perhaps they will post in this thread.

They said the same thing last year. I e-filed mine so they'd be in the Que waiting for them to start accepting them. SURPRISE SURPISE I got my Refund January 24, 2025

It should be ready Jan 21, 2026.   But there's no hurry, the IRS doesn't open  filing until Jan 26.

Software updates are "usually" only implemented on Wed or Thursday overnights.

So it's normal to only see an update on Thursday mornings....rarely Fridays, and extremely rarely on an early day of the week.

Current information suggests On/after 21 January.......so Thursday 22 Jan is most likely.  (though you could try again on Thursday 15 Jan, just in case it ready early.  It might update other stuff on the 15th and not include 1099-R forms...but it will be whatever they include, and we have no control over it)
