When my return says federal amount due does that mean I owe money?

I filed an amended return and it says amount due for federal amd state. Does that mean what they owe me or I owe them?

It means the amount that you owe to the government.

If you are receiving a refund from your original return, you should wait until you receive the refund, before you mail in your amended tax return with a check.

Im unsure as to why I owe. I added a w2 to my husbands return and on TT it says I will get back a certain amount but when I printed it. It says I owe a larger amount?
