What happened to the old way of entering 1099-DIV, 1099-INT, and so on

I have TT Premier. I want to start entering dividends. I clicked on Update on the dividends line but instead of getting a list of the institutions like in previous years I get a jumbled list of dividends, interest, and whatever else and TT wants to import each item. I want to enter my items manually like I have done in previous years. So, I click to update institution XXX and the import list comes up, I click Skip Import and a screen comes up with options to enter dividends or interest or whatever and I click dividends and finally get the dialog window to enter total dividends and qualified dividends. Once I enter those and continue to the next screen (special situations) and then finish my entry, I am returned to that aggravating screen to import more items. I hate this interface. Why did Intuit put such a piece of crap like this in Turbo Tax? Make it go away. I want to enter manually with as few screen clicks as possible. If Turbo Tax does not revert the interface to the one that they have used for many years then this will be the last year I use Turbo Tax.

I know, I don't like how to enter Interest, Dividends, Sales etc. Too many clicks and screens to click on and go through. There is no table on the screen (except in Forms) and you have to click though several screens to add more. And after I manually entered 3 interest it didn't ask if I wanted it to stop asking to import. Oh and Interest, Dividends and Sales are listed in the same list on the screen alphabetically. If I go to Interest I only want to see Interest!

So go to the bottom and click on +Add Investments
Then to Import enter the bank or financial institution in the search box
Then double click on the item below

OR to manually enter, don't enter the bank name and click Skip Import at the bottom

THEN....should be a screen with 5 boxes, Interest, Dividends, Stocks, Bonds, Mutual Funds, Cryptocurrency and Other.

this is one advantage of having a desktop version. in forms mode, you can click on the 1099 if listed or click on the forms tab and then open form to add a new 1099 or any other form/worksheet.

I don't like those new desktop screens either.  I even went to the Manage Import Options screen and placed a checkmark for each type of 1099 to not be asked to import.   Well, even after I did that, it ignores it.   I still get asked to import on each 1099-DIV/INT, etc., but I skip it each time since I want to enter manually.

At least for me, I notice some icons in that 1099-INT/DIV/B section of the desktop product appear or not, according to whether I'm signed-in to the desktop product and have an active Internet connection.   That's odd--almost like a hybrid product.

Thanks for your response.

Where is the Manage Import Options screen? I have looked but have not found it. If it makes a difference, I am using the desktop version of TT Premier.

@Clethro   I haven’t checked this year but my notes from before…..

To get to Manage Import go to

Federal Taxes Tab

Wages & Income

Choose Explore on my own or I'll choose what to work on  or I'll choose what to work on  (if it comes up)

The first item on the income summary list is Import Summary - Click View

Then choose Add Other Documents (you can do an import here)

Then at the very bottom of the next screen scroll down and select Manage Import Options

you can change the options there

@mesquitebean  Thanks,  I’ll add that to my list I’m making of differences signed in and out.

I tried the Manage Import Options. It did not make a difference.

Intuit has made Turbo Tax really inconvenient to use. I hope the competitors seize on this and use it to their advantage. I have begun researching the competitor's offerings. I am no longer a satisfied Turbo Tax customer.
