I am the POA for my nephew who is incarcerated. Can I file a 1040 for him?
Yes. As long as you are the Power of Attorney for your nephew and a current Form 2848 is filed, you are able to file his taxes without his review and signature. Please keep in mind that the POA must include the tax year 2020 if you are filing for him this year.
