What do I enter for locality name when the box on the w-2 is empyt?

If you are unable to proceed or you get an error because you have local withholding or wages, and the locality name is blank, enter your city.  This should allow you to proceed without error.

Didn't work. I typed in 123abc and it worked.

I just called Winstar Casino in OK.  They said put WS in locality box #18

W-2 for this and past have always had box 16 blank Name of locality.  This has never prevented me from filing before.

Each state handles local taxes differently.  The name is likely a city, county or school system that you lived in or worked in.  We are unable to see your W-2.

Are you able to see what was reported on that employer’s W-2 one year ago?
