We need to re-submit our 2019 return because it was rejected, but we don't know why it was rejected and there is no option on the Turbo Tax website to "Fix My Return"

We received an email that stated to login and click "Fix My Return," but there is no tab showing.  How do we figure out what is wrong with the return?

We need to re-submit our 2019 return because it was rejected, but we don't know why it was rejected and there is no option on the Turbo Tax website to "Fix My Return"

The TurboTax email also should have stated the reason for the rejection.

Most all IRS rejections were due to having an incorrect 2018 AGI when e-filing the 2019 tax return.  The 2018 AGI is not used on a mailed tax return.

 

To access your current or prior year tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the userID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and on the section Your tax returns & documents click on Show.  Click on the Year and Click on Download/print return (PDF)

A 2019 tax return can only be printed and mailed, it cannot be e-filed.

 

Print, sign, date and mail the tax return to the IRS.  Include with the mailed return any forms W-2 and 1099 which have taxes withheld.  Go to this IRS website for mailing addresses - https://www.irs.gov/filing/where-to-file-paper-tax-returns-with-or-without-a-payment

There are no penalties for filing a tax return after the due date if filing for a tax refund or there are no taxes owed.

Print your return and file it by mail.

If you see nothing wrong, but you made an error - what IRS calls a miscalculation - IRS will correct your return.
