I was working on my tax filing today. I took a break and came back to it this evening. Upon my return, I reviewed my W-2 income information, and found that my old employer that I left in 2019 was now associated with my current employer’s W-2 income information, and my current employer was listed with $0.00 income. I had deleted the old employer from my income prior. This troubled me, so I removed all W-2 information, and started over.
I went on to my 1099 income. I had only one 1099 last year, but this year I have two. I noticed that the income amounts for 2020 were reversed, showing that I made income from the wrong 1099 in 2019.
I can’t seem to reach support, and this is very troubling to see. I was hoping to file this weekend and get it overwith for the year, but this does not inspire confidence. If TurboTax can’t keep my income information straight in the application, what else is wrong in the generation of my tax forms that are ultimately sent to the IRS that I’ll have to answer for when potential errors are discovered?
Is anyone else seeing this type of activity? If Intuit is monitoring these forums, please help. Are there issues in the application at present? I’ve tried both on the iPad app, and through the website directly, with the same results. Please help.
