Hi,
I used an accountant when I filed my 2019 tax returns. However, I would like to use TurboxTax to calculate and generate the vouchers for my estimated 2020 quarterly tax payments. Can someone please advise if this is possible and if so please advise on how to proceed?
Thank you!
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
You can use TurboTax to assist you with the appropriate estimates and you may also be able to generate the vouchers (this will depend on just how much data entry you wish to do).
If you want to do the minimal amount of data entry, then complete just your basic info in an account at TurboTax.com, skip to the section for Estimates (explained in more detail below) and then use THIS form-fillable version of the 1040-ES to type up and print your vouchers.
After you set up your basic information in the Personal Info section of the program (this is the initial interview) follow these steps to create the vouchers:
TurboTax will ask questions about your tax filing status, age, and expected income to assist you in preparing the vouchers. For TurboTax to print the vouchers, you will have to enter enough data for it to complete a tax return for you (it doesn't necessarily have to represent your actual return) and then you can select only the voucher pages.
However, the less labor intensive option will likely be to transfer the amounts to the forms and print them outside of the program.
Super helpful! Thank you!!!
use the back of a napkin and estimate the shortfall from low withholding that you are experiencing.
Then divide by four.
