Uploading W2 stored on my drive from PDF

I'm confused by the wording used.  On the screen that allows me to upload W2s it states: "Upload it from my computer.  Use a PDF or even a picture of your form.".  Yet, when I click on that option and navigate to my PDF document, it returns with: "W2 document could not be imported.".

Why?  It clearly says I should be able to upload using a PDF file.

What am I missing?

Since a W2 is not that complicated I went ahead and manually entered it.  But it would really be nice to be clear on whether or not I can import it.

Yes, the program does allow for importing of your W-2. You may review the help resources below for further details:

....sometimes the PDF is formatted in such a way that the software doesn't recognize it.  The layout various employers use for W-2 forms varies so wildly, that maybe yours was just too strange for the software's AI to figure out.

(opinion) I think Manual was definitely the way to go.....  Eventually they'll get the AI working flawlessly, but it's not there yet.
