Unable to Update Turbo Tax 2024

Attempting to access Turbo Tax 2024.  Prompted to install latest updates.  Click to Update and get this message:

Failed to install update.  Microsoft Install error.  1603.  Fatal error during installation.  Check for solution.  

Then checked for solution and told no solution.

Now unable to access Turbo Tax 2024 at all.

I tried everything suggested:  turned off VPN software, even thought it wasn't running; turned off anti-virus, updated everything; downloaded and installed the superpatch (which then gave me another implied error).  Then I uninstalled and redownloaded and installed 2024 - boom.  Problem resolved.

And for anyone else finding this thread.....Here's another long post about updating 2024.  I finally deleted and reinstalled 2024.

you shouldn't have needed to take all the steps since Turbotax and supposedly support should know what to do based on this Turbotax webpage
