Unlike all past years, I (like a number of others, I note) am unable to transfer data from my .tax2023 file. I've copied it from my online NAS storage (where I've always placed my TT files), to my local 'My Documents' folder and also to my 'Desktop'. The scan finds all three but, when I click the Transfer Return button, a "Reading your return" message displays for a second and then disappears. As suggested in other posts, I've also used the Browse option to try transferring from each of the three files with the same (non-) result.
My Turbotax Deluxe 2024 software is updated.
Thanks.

The link to the other thread simply says the issue has been resolved/closed but doesn't give me access to the solution. Thanks for trying but I'm still unable to transfer from 2023, even after installing the latest software version update.

I'd suggest uninstall/re-install TurboTax 2024. Here's how to do a Manual Update.
You could try opening TurboTax 2023 from your C drive, and re-saving your tax file again to your desktop. Then try transferring this file to 2024.
This sounds like an individual system issue, or a maybe a problem with the file transferred from online storage being corrupted.

I uninstalled TurboTax 2024, downloaded a fresh copy, installed updates. Very, very odd but TT 2023 couldn't open the 2023 tax file, nor the backup I'd made last year. Whoa! When did that happen?? I haven't touched TT 2023 or it's tax file since last April. (I'm able to open my TT 2022 return fine.)
So I then browsed to my 2023 "filing" PDF in TT 2024. It said it was successful in transferring personal information and income but nothing seems to have been transferred (Names, SSNs, etc.). I then tried another PDF that I'd exported (all records version). I read that transferring from a PDF was not as complete as from a tax file but why am I not seeing anything??
This is ridiculous.
Yes, you should see data in 2024 if you transferred using a 2023 PDF file.
Have you tried a Manual Update for TurboTax 2024?
It sound like the files transferred from your NAS drive are corrupted, if you couldn't open your 2023 return in 2023 TurboTax.

The link you provided me for the manual update says "individual". Does it matter if I'm using the Deluxe version?
I downloaded and ran the manual update, opened TT 2024, began a new tax return, browsed and selected my 2023 PDF. While it said it was successful, there is still no personal information.
