I have the download version of Turbo Tax 2022 for Home and Business for MAC but when I login here, and try to ACCESS TurboTax Quick Employer Forms, it says I need to buy to access. Even though it says I'm logged in. One time it asked me to re-log in so I did.
What am I missing? I want to create two 1099s NEC for two of our contractors. I did it last year without issue.
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
Here are my old notes. Let me know if it still works and you can find it.
If you are using the Mac Home & Business CD/Download program you can only prepare W2s and 1099s using QEF-Quick Employer Forms. At the bottom of the Welcome to Turbo Tax screen it should say Create 1099s for Contractors and W2s for Employees. The main FAQ for preparing them makes it sound like Mac can't do them but that is only to do them on your computer using the built in W2/1099 reporter. You can still use the Online QEF Quick Employer Forms method.

Another way to get to the Quick Employer Forms is to go to the Business tab - Continue
Select I'll Choose what I work on (if it comes up)
Top item Profit or Loss from Business - Click Start
Click Edit by your Business
Then either
Scroll down to Business Expenses
On Other Common Business Expenses, click the start or update button
There are two sections where you can start using the QEF for contractors or employees.
For Contractors, on Contract Labor, Click the Start button
On the screen "Enter Contract Labor Expenses" there is shown "Create and File W-2s and 1099s Online with Turbo Tax Quick Employer Forms" and a "Start here" blue highlighted link. This will take you to the QEF website.

Here's what I did:
I exited the tax return I was preparing.
I started a new return.
Under "Manage and Grow Your Business" I clicked on the link "Create 1099s for your contractors and W2s for your employees."
That took me to the QEF web site where I could enter the 1099-NEC information.
You can contact Support if you cannot be resolve this issue.
What is the TurboTax phone number? (intuit.com)
Are you starting with the program open on your Mac?

You guys are correct. You can't go to the website. You have to click from INSIDE the open program for it to know you are the same person who bought the software. So it worked going in that way. Thanks.
Hello:
I purchased the 2022 Turbotax Home and Business online from Intuit directly and registered the copy using the same login. But the Quick Employer form site does not provide access to old forms, instead, the site redirect to purchase another copy.
There is no contact info to get to ask Intuit, does anyone know how to handle this apparent bug of the site?
Thank you!
Kevin
Prior-year Quick Employer Forms (QEF) can be accessed for free if you downloaded and saved a PDF version before October 31st. Reference: Why do I have to pay to access my prior-year QEF?
To speak with a Product Support Specialist via phone, please follow the instructions in the following Help Article: How do I contact TurboTax?
@adjsunshine Depends how you did them from the Home & Business program. If you have the Windows Desktop Home & Business program installed on your computer you can prepare them 2 different ways either online using QEF Quick Employer Forms or locally on your own computer with the built in W2/1099 Reporter. If you did them on your computer the only copies are saved on that computer. If you used the Online Quick Employer Forms you can access the current year and 1 prior year.
You can sign back into QEF Quick Employer Forms here,
I have a related issue I can work around but can't seem to solve. I have two different account. Fairly certain I created the new one when we formed an LLC and had to start using TT Business.
So when I click to work on 1099s online from within TT Business, it takes me to a new QEF account that does have any forms in it. I can log out of QEF and log back in using the old ID and work on them for there, but it would be nice if there was an easy way to transfer/import them into the new account.
Would greatly appreciate any advice you can offer.
With the downloaded Home and Business edition, I was following everyone's instructions to go to Quick Employer Forms (online), yet it thought I did not own the software. I wasn't sure how TurboTax was supposed to know I bought it already.
I finally figured out how to make TurboTax connect the dots- within the TurboTax software, I found File->Sign In. Once doing that, Quick Employer Forms knew I owned the right edition 🙂
Thanks to all of you responded to this question. The trick way to restore access to online Employer forms is:
From TurboTax Home and Business, Start a New Tax Return (W2-1099) and Choose "Online TurboTax Quick Employer Forms" using the previous registered login. The old forms would get magically open and transferred.
