Shouldn't need to do that. I did notice the W-2 entry is different than in past years. There was also some slowness for me in the two state returns I need to do, plus a bug in PA where I confirm the wages are for PA or not, it doesn't list the payer, just provides a number... not a huge deal, but still an oversite by Intuit, so who knows how many other issues they have. Might be time to switch to TaxCut for 2022...
Of course, this is all from the same company (Intuit) that brings you QuickBooks desktop and requires you to have Internet Explorer installed and turned on...which isn't even installed on computers purchased in the last 2 years...and other installed browsers can prevent IE from being "turned on" 🙄
Same problem, absurdly slow after I enter each value, often it comes back with multiple "Please Wait" alerts before allowing me to enter another value. I've been using TurboTax business and home & business for 20 years and have never seen this kind of behavior before.
Running Windows 10 on a laptop where everything else runs just fine.
Where did you purchase? Trying to understand if there is a common denominator here.
Where did you purchase? I'd like to understand if there is a common denominator here.
We bought ours from Costco, download with their link online.
I purchased & downloaded from Amazon. Same as the last several years.
Purchased CD from Amazon.
Common denominator is simply the software...different versions, different formats (CD, download), same results.
I am having the same problem. I have to wait about 10 seconds for the system to "think" before it will allow me to enter data into the next field. Painfully slow!! I have a new Dell, running SSD, GPU, Win7,. I have always run the Windows version of TurboTax in part because I want good performance. If this extreme slowness persists, I'll probably ditch TurboTax next year. For $100, Intuit needs to do way better than this!
That is my guess. I had to hunt a bit to find the downlodable version. I think Intuit wants everyone on the SaaS version instead of running locally, and this slowness is a way to force that.
Replying to my previous post of Monday Feb 21st on slow TT.
This changed on Friday after new updates were installed. My TT is now much more responsive as it should be. Also, it doesn't hang now when going to the Intuit site.
Hopefully they fixed the speed problems so others notice a welcome change.
Bought from Costco, then downloaded from web site, same as last year.
My TT won’t install the latest update. It fails. I did notice that the manual update is a newer version but the update released this week will not install on my PC.
@villanpd can you check what version your TT is with the latest patch? Help menu, About TT...
Turbotax Deluxe 2021 is running awfully slow on a new computer, no less. This is my 3rd year using Turbotax; never had this problem before.
What can I do about this?
