TurboTax is requiring a validation on every use, quickly using your 5 licenses

I have used TT since 2010.   For some reason TT 2019 is requiring a new validation every time I open it.   Yes, 2019 is open but I quite often refer back when I am doing tax planning.  This was inconvenient but not terribly so the first 4 times it happened.  However now I get a message that all my 5 licenses have been used so I can't access TT2019.   TT2020 and TT2018 don't exhibit this behavior.   So I have to do my tax planning with hard copies of my 2019 return.   I think it is time I find a different vendor than TT as their support system sucks as well.

Please see the following TurboTax FAQ for more information on how to resolve this issue: TurboTax 2019 and TurboTax 2020 requests license activation at every launch

It is absolutely not a problem with my internet in any way.  TT 2020 has no problem connecting.   I am not certain TT 2019 has a problem connecting with the validation server.  I do know that it tells me that I have timed out over 5 license activations.  Note this is TT 2019 as a problem not TT 2020.   Since the purchase of TT 2019 I have rebuilt two boxes and recently cloned a new Samsung NVME into my newest box as the new OS drive.  So it simply could be the older software timing out on old to new hardware changes.   All modern Software vendors with long lived hardware solve this problem easily.  They set up your activations in your account on their website.  So when you move to a new box you can deactivate an old license freeing it up to use in your new box or new laptop.  It is simply and effective.  TurboTax hasn't yet figured out that some of us still have TT on our machines from 2010 and occasionally will want to get into those files.   I can't tell you how many machines I have had over the past 10 years, but it probably approaches 20.  Say, with Adobe's Lightroom, that is an easy fix.  Simply go into Adobe and deactivate an old license on an old motherboard and reactivate it on the new mobo.   TT hasn't yet figured that out.   But eventually they will particularly if they want to remain a viable tax software provider.
