Do you have a TurboTax Online account?

We'll help you get started or pick up where you left off.

Turbotax is asking for details from my 1099-NEC. I didn't get one so I don't have payers federal id number. What do I do?

This is the last part that I need to finish. I know how much I got paid, but I didn't get a 1099 from Instacart so I don't have the payers federal ID number. It won't let me finish.

Since you didn't receive a 1099-NEC for your self-employment income, you will need to choose "other self-employed income" when asked what type of income you received. This is where you would report income received in cash or checks.

Once you're logged back in to your TurboTax account and on the Tax Home page,

- click work on other income under Income & Expenses

- on the income & expense summary screen, click Review or Add/Edit next to Self-employment income and expenses

- click Review or Edit next to the business activity you need to include income for

- scroll to the income section and delete the Form 1099-NEC. Then click the button that says Add income for this work

- choose the third option, Other self-employed income, and click Continue

- Enter the amount of income that you earned in 2024 through your business. Click Continue.
