Turbotax Guarantee when entering data in forms view

I was speaking with a TT representative about a problem entering the basis of my IRA because of a software glitch.  See https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/taxes/discussion/step-by-step-stuck-on-nondeductible-ira-question... for a description of the problem as others reported it.

I asked the rep if I could simply enter the basis in form view, and he said no, that might mess up the calculation and void the guarantee.   See case #1542295199.

However a TT rep responding to the above chain advised doing exactly that .   So which is correct?  And in general, if I do enter data in the forms view am I still guaranteed accuracy?

Turbotax Guarantee when entering data in forms view

Entering data in forms mode only affects the guarantee if they are an "override" - which will show up on the forms in red.  If you don't see red type where you enter the data, it will calculate and the guarantee will still be valid.
