Turbotax error/malfunction; entries erroneously changed/created by software

TT malfunctioned before my eyes. I checked 1099-DIV entries, and they were all correct. After finishing, I was asked to review an entry which had zeroed out! Upon checking, I found a new entry had been created, replicating an existing one, and 2 sets of numbers had been transposed up, leaving the third one zeroed!

I have in excess of $80,000 in income and the software says I owe no taxes!!! What is wrong with it?

What kind of income?  W2, 1099 etc.  You probably had withholding taken out?  Do you mean no tax on line 16 or no tax due on line 35?  Your withholding and credits must have covered the tax on your income.  Review your return (each line) before you file.  What lines don't you understand?

Before filing,  You can preview the 1040 or print the whole return

Or to remove the form (s) or worksheet (s) you do not need.

In TurboTax online,

  • Sign into your account, select Pick up where you left off
  • From the left menu, select Tax Tools, click on the drop down arrow
  • Select Tools
  • Under Other helpful links, choose Delete a form
  • Select Delete form and worksheet and Continue with My Return
