Does TurboTax support has a tool that will cleanly uninstall all components of TurboTax 2025 Desktop from all the folders and clean the cache, so the new Install is an environment with no corrupted files any where. I think most uers are suffering on that count.

How do I forcefully uninstall TurboTax for Windows?
Today I have done uninstall/install of TurboTax 2025 Desktop Premier for Window for the sixth time. I have HP OmniBook 7 Laptop AI running Window 11 that I purchased in November because my old laptop would not upgrade to Windows 11. I have been using TurboTax Desktop for five years. This is my sixth year.
My TurboTax program appears to load in the memory, with a blue window with TurboTax Logo, and a familiar give us a moment and then changing into we know it is taking more than a moment. Every desktop software user is familiar. It ends up in showing, “We have hit a snag activating your product, this is most likely because something happened during installation.”
Except the first time when I install and it ends up with a blue window showing successful install and a prompt “Are you ready to start working on your taxes?”, and a button labelled Launch. When I click on the button, the program silently crashes. When I launch it from TurboTax 2025 Icon on my desk top it ends up with TurboTax Activation Window with the message, “ We have hit a snag activating your product, this is most likely because something happened during installation”. I also install “w-perrelsuperpatchlS_ttax_2025” it ends up with message successful install and then I need to launch it from the Turbo Tax 2025 Icon. It hits the same activation snag.
I have had three expert help sessions. In the first session, the gentleman listened to my story and asked me to hold while he checks, on his end what was happening. While I was holding the line another expert came on-line and said the call has been transferred to her, but offered only uninstall/install solution and assured me if I use Chrome browser to download the installer and disable virus scanning software and disable fire wall, the software will run.
I tried to get through the automated telephone answering system and was finally connected to a person with whom I shared a screen and I followed his commands uninstalling/ installing. We could not go past what I have described above. I could not get to the point where the program would ask me to enter my license code. At this point he brought another person who was the lead expert of his group, we together uninstalled/installed another time with no different result. I was told that the following day a new version of the software was coming and he gave me a telephone number and a support ID. That was February 5. On February 6, I called and got connected to an expert who checked a lot of things. For reasons not known to me, she wanted me to start my computer in safe mode. I was able to do that in my third attempt, it was a blue screen with low resolution, as I was seeing large size text. My call got disconnected and when I called back, a different lady picked up. She looked at the notes of my previous effort and finally gave me a few more things to do before uninstall/install.
Today I have attempted for the sixth time to see if I can get my program to go beyond the activation snag. I made a long list of things to do that I had learned to do over my conversations with the expert help, and the available documentation for troubleshooting.
I followed the uninstall, by deleting folders/files that uninstall process from the Control Panel did not. I ran System file checker with DISM and SFC commands. Checked the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable 2015 -2022 (x64) and (x86) that was installed during one of the installation, as one of the message window enunciated was needed to run TurboTax. Checked that windows were updated; Google Chrome was my default browser and was up to date; cleared cookies, cache and browsing data, down loaded the windows_PC_TurboTax_Download.exe and “w_perrelsuperpatchlS_ttax_2025.exe”. Closed all applications and Edge browser and checked with Task Manager. Only my Windows explorer and Task manager were left running. Disabled windows defender and fire wall and launched the download. The process went without any interruption or any message with successful install and button to launch that failed silently. I ran the superpatch install and got successful install message. Launched TurboTax from Icon on the desktop and ended up at the snag window. I am sure other users on the community may have experienced the same problem. I am also sure that HP OmniBook 7 is the laptop others are using. I am hoping someone in the community or Support Experts Teams see this post and guide me out of it.
Thank you.
I had done exactly that earlier without getting the problem solved. Knowing that the document you supplied was authentic I appl ied it during uninstall earlier. I apologize for giving you the travails of my trying to get the software to work.
