TurboTax 2022 Won't Open

I used TT 2022 Deluxe Desktop version last year to file my Mom's Federal and California income tax.  I used Mac OS Big Sur.  No problems were encountered.  But, I recently upgraded my Mac to OS Sonoma.  When I subsequently tried to open the return and I get the message that says "The Tax return you are attempting to load contains one or more state tax forms which are not installed on this machine.  Please install California to continue".  When I originally did my taxes for 2022, I downloaded (and paid for) the California forms (I had used my "free" state download for Hawaii).  I am hesitant to reinstall California since I don't want to pay for it.  What should I do??
