There is a PIN for e-filing verification, which is the 5 digit pin used the prior year for e-filing and there is the IP PIN, which is assigned by IRS to be used for filing individual income tax returns that may have been compromised and assists IRS with identification of the owner of the ssn being filed on the return.
They are not the same.
You enter the IP PIN on the "Other Tax Situations" page in the Federal section.
