For year I have had Vanguard accounts and when I get to the IRA, 401k, Pension section for the companies are listed-- All I need to do is import. But this year filing 2024, Turbo Tax is not even showing I had Vanguard. WHY ? VG has been showing up on Turbo tax for over 5 years. I can ADD but that's not the question. Why hs TurboTax all of a sudden decided I don't have VG?? II first noticed this when I started my 2024 taxes in early Feb 2025 but thought something as amiss & would correct it self when I returned later. Now a month later and it still is not showing.

It is not that TurboTax is not showing something that you have. Rather, the Vanguard tax documents are not available. I believe the reason that tax forms for Vanguard Mutual Funds are not available to import has something to do with their transitioning from their old Mutual Fund Only platform to their new brokerage platform. Vanguard Brokerage forms are available to import, but Vanguard did not make the tax forms for the mutual fund only platform available. If they aren't available now that it's March, I wouldn't expect them to become available. As you mentioned, you can add them yourself by manually entering them.
Thank for the reply but I'm still not understand why it doesn't show up. Yes, I can add it but USUALLLY even before the downloads are available, (say mid January) TT will list VG for the current year because I had it the previous year. Example, last year I had a saving account at ABC bank. I moved the money so I did not have a 1099 Div/Int from ABC bank, BUT TT saw that because I had it last year, the showed it this year-- then I just deleted it. So why if I had VG las year would TT not list it this year? Also it usually show the amount from the prior year, 2023, to the left of the current databut again VG isn't even listed. In the past few year TT has had problems downloading some of VG 1099 but at least the accounts SHOWED up and you could manually enter the data.
When you have a third party creating data objects to be used/imported in TurboTax, there is a fair amount of coordination that has to happen. You may have the answer in your last post "In the past few year TT has had problems downloading some of VG 1099 ".
Unfairly, TurboTax is blamed if an import fails, even if the third party did not create a data object to TurboTax's specs.
It may be (I have no inside information but was a programmer elsewhere for 25 years) that TurboTax and Vanguard could not come to an agreement on specifications or quality control. It would make sense to me that if TurboTax kept getting abuse for bad Vanguard downloads, that lacking an improvement, that TurboTax might just leave Vanguard off the list.
Thanks BillM223. I guess I'll just move on but it still don't make sense to me. I totally understand how TT could get blamed for problems with download problems. But the the very beginning of this year, TT said "we've transferred all your info from last year to save time. Did any of the following apply this year? We think these may apply" Then TT lists all of the 1099's I had from various places INCLUDING 1099r Div VG Marketing Corp AND 1099R VG Fiduciary Trust. When I got to the Int & Div section, the VG Marketing Corp was listed and I could choose to download, copy off my PC or manually enter--- OK all that was good. When I got to the IRA, 401k, Pension section, VG wasn't listed. Just seems strange that at the beginning they "knew it was there" and then poof they forgot. OK I appreciate the help, I'm moving on and will ADD it. ;(
