Which state? Utah?
Also be sure you have spelled the name of the employer correctly, as per your W-2.
I am having this same issue, yes with the state of Utah. Any ideas?

This is a well-known problem for Utah filers but an easy fix. For state of Utah, a employer's state withholding ID is 14 characters long--11 digits and 3 letters ending in wth (if withholding) or wmp (minerals). Oddly, TurboTax requires Utah filers to use lower case for those last 3 letters. So in Utah for a W-2 with withholding an example of the employer state ID would be 12345678901wth (lower case.) Be sure there are no dashes (hyphens).
You must use lower case in the Utah employer state ID on any form that has Utah state withholding: W-2's, 1099's, etc.
I changed it to lowercase under the federal portion, but even after saving it still has the popup error "check this entry" it still has it all uppercase. Is there a way to fix this?
Try again...but this time, for that box 15 number
1) Delete the whole number...making it a blank-empty box
2) Click in another box..like box 16
3) Then click back into the box 15 number box and retype it.
IF that doesn't work, delete the whole box 15 number making it blank...then navigate out to the main menu and come back into the form and retype it.
one of those should work.
Check to make sure you don't have your state abbreviation added to the numbers on line 15. Example: UT[phone number removed]WTH. The drop down menu has already added the state, no need for it to be entered again. Remove that and you should be able to e-file. It worked for me.
Example: UT###########WTH
Correct, there are two sub- boxes within box 15.
The first half is where you enter UT.....and that UT is NOT along with the second part which is the number, in the separate field for box 15. SO, in the second box, just the numbers and the final three letters: ***********wth
this worked perfect for me. Thank you!
