TT 2021 Form 8962 - Error calculating repayment limitation?

Hi, I was able to file late on Feb 2, 2022 with the correct repayment of APTC. I was not notified of a fix from TT but when I logged in to TT I noticed the expected amount of tax owed and then I verified it looking at the associated tax forms did not put the $2700 limitation on repayment since I was over 400% FPL and needed to repay all the excess APTC I received throughout the year.

My issue is not exactly this, but related to the California State return for repayment.  California appears to use the Federal income numbers, which include the California State refund from the previous year.  I don't have an issue with the Federal return, as overpayment of the state taxes reduce my Fed taxes due, however, By using the Federal numbers, California is taxing me on my own after tax refund money by using the Federal Income instead of the California adjusted income (which does not include Ca Refund from previous year or California exempted bond income).  It's a pretty big mess right now.  The second issue on the California is that the Premium Assistance Subsidy and "how much I qualify for" are both shown as "0" even though I know it should not be.

I have this issue. My taxes were rejected this week. My income this year was over the 400%.

Line 28 says I owe the $2700, but is is the amount that I owe actually on line 27??

The status is received, said it would be fixed 2/10/2022. Is that correct

I need know if 2021 repayment of excess advance payment of the premium tax credit

TT 2021 Form 8962 - Error calculating repayment limitation?

Any update on this issue. I can make the Turbotax calculate the correct amount for form 8962 by overrideing the 0 on the 1095A for SLCSP with the values calculated from these two web sites.

https://www.healthcare.gov/tax-form-1095/#slcsp

https://www.healthcare.gov/tax-tool/#/premium-tax-credit

I would not have to override the 1095A if I could just enter the number in Form 8962 Part II Line 11(b)

Is this the right way to deal with this issue????

Here is a quote from IRS, https://www.irs.gov/instructions/i8962#en_US_2021_publink100036365

Missing or incorrect SLCSP premium on Form 1095-A. Generally, there are two situations where your SLCSP premium may not be accurately reflected on your Form 1095-A. If either of these two situations applies to you, or if you have reason to believe the Marketplace reported the wrong applicable SLCSP premium, you must determine the correct applicable SLCSP premium for every month. If the correct applicable SLCSP premium is not the same for every month of 2021, check the “No” box and continue to lines 12 through 23. The two situations in which your SLCSP may not be accurately reflected on your Form 1095-A are the following.
No APTC was paid for your coverage. If no APTC was paid for your or your family member’s coverage, the SLCSP premium reported in Part III, column B, lines 21 through 32, of Form 1095-A may be wrong, left blank, or reported as -0-. To determine your applicable SLCSP premium for each month, see Pub. 974 or, if you enrolled through the federally facilitated Marketplace, go to HealthCare.gov/Tax-Tool/. If your correct applicable SLCSP premium is not the same for all 12 months, check the “No” box and continue to lines 12 through 23.

This may be helpful for some:

"2021 Unemployment Compensation. If you, or your spouse (if filing a joint return), received, or were approved to receive, unemployment compensation for any week beginning during 2021, the amount of the your household income is considered to be no greater than 133% of the federal poverty line for your family size and you are considered to have met the household income requirements for being allowed a premium tax credit."

TT 2021 Form 8962 - Error calculating repayment limitation?

Did not solve my problem. I had to enter the correct SLCSP into my 1095A to make TTax give the right answer. Hope I don't get bounced by TTax or IRS for changing the downloaded 1095A.

Good luck! It's like they don't care. I requested a refund and went with someone else.

TT 2021 Form 8962 - Error calculating repayment limitation?

When I used turbo tax it came up with me owing 550.  But when I pulled the IRS forms and did the calculations myself for the 8962, the IRS owes me 515.  So I filed a paper return.  There is definitely an error in the software.  File a paper return.  A whole lot of people are going to pay in when they should have gotten a refund!
