I live in Kansas and work in Kansas City Missouri. Kansas City charges a 1% earnings tax. How do I claim credit for that city tax when filing my Kansas return?

I don't see an option to enter in anything other than States and I can't append any city information. Should I just claim Missouri twice with the correct tax amount for each, or claim Missouri once and just total the two taxes together?

I live in Kansas and work in Kansas City Missouri. Kansas City charges a 1% earnings tax. How do I claim credit for that city tax when filing my Kansas return?

Page 7 of the Kansas tax instruction booklet says this:  The amount of income tax paid to another state includes tax paid to that state and to any political subdivision.   https://www.ksrevenue.org/pdf/ip17.pdf

In TurboTax, it's important to complete your non-resident state return before you complete your home state return, so that the credits flow properly.

Therefore I think you should total the two taxes together.

**Answers are correct to the best of my ability but do not constitute tax or legal advice.

Tom, thanks for the quick response. After having entered the numbers both ways, and now having that reference you provided, I agree that seems like the correct approach.
