to claim full time student

We had planned to claim our fulltime 23 yr old student, but at the end of the year she won a raffle item worth over $10000. Should she do her own taxes to claim non-cash winnings? Or can we still claim her?

to claim full time student

Yes, you can claim her.  If you daughter is a full time student and under the age of 24, it does not matter what her income is.  When she files a tax return, she needs to indicate in TurboTax that she can be claimed as a dependent by someone else.

The filing requirement for a dependent to file a return is:

Unearned income greater than $1,100

Earned income greater than $12,200

Gross income greater than the larger of $1,100 or Earned income (up to $11,850) plus $350.

However if you wanted to claim her next year when she is no longer 23, you could only claim her if her income was under $4,200.
