the primary owner of the brokerage account must be logged on to import this information - vanguard import

I'm unable to import from Vanguard, I keep getting the same message over and over: the primary owner of the brokerage account must be logged on to import this information

The credentials I'm typing are correct. They work to log into Vanguard.

It is quite remarkable that in 2020 Intuit still doesn't know how to import stuff from their partners.

Any solution out there (hint: typing by hand is NOT a solution)?

Tx.

I have the same problem.  It looks like no one answered this question which was asked on 3/29/2020.  Does TurboTax read these tax questions, or is there somewhere else to ask TurboTax questions?  I provide my User Name and Password for Vanguard and then import tax data OK.  When my wife's User Name and Password are entered, I receive the message ""The primary owner of the Brokerage account must be logged on to import this information".  I had to enter all this information manually the past few years.  What is the solution to this problem?

Katrina,

you are pointing to a thread where people complain exactly about the same problem, and in which there is no answer.

There is clearly a bug in the system and Intuit must fix it. Simply saying "if it does not work, download the documents and type by hand" is not a valid answer.

Please have the developers look at the problem and provide an answer when this is fixed.

Thank you.

I had same issue.  Wife's mutual fund info downloaded A-OK but brokerage will not.  We were logged on in her Vanguard account at the time.  No prob for mutuals but no-go for brokerage.  I set up a trouble ticket with Turbotax and 'Jeremy' said there is no issue.  I said there is and I had seen other reports in the chat and on line.  He said he would log it as an issue.

Meanwhile I guess manual entry?  Ugh.
