The Marine Corps W-2 Form does not have a state ID number for box 15.  Boxes 15 and 16 are filled in, but the Employer's State ID Number and box 17 are blank and it won't let me continue unless i fill it in.  I can only assume it's because out of state active duty members don't pay state taxes if not stationed in their home state.  What do i do to finish my taxes?

A blank box 15 state employer ID on your W-2 should not cause a problem with your return processing at the IRS or the state revenue office. Here are some steps to work around this message and allow you to e-file. Having box 17 blank should not generate an error.
