Are you better off filing separately if one spouse is on medicare and the other one is paying high ins premiums but has low income?
My wife is 63 and paying high premiums for health ins. she only has SS income if she filed separately she would get a govt. subsidy but because we file jointly our income is over the limit. Are we better off filing jointly or separately?

The best way to fnd out to is to compare the results from both filing status options. Turbo Tax has a way for you to make this comparison. Please refer to the following FAQ for instructions on how to compare your filing status options. https://ttlc.intuit.com/replies/4775330
